Job Title:                    Retail Clothing Manager

Reports to:                 Motorclothes Manager

FLSA Status:                Salary+Commission/Full-Time

 

Job Summary:

To deliver such a memorable experience to every customer, that they refer at least one person to our dealership.  Assist all customers, in person or over the phone, with questions and requests.  Provide a memorable shopping experience by creating excitement and maintaining an exceptional standard of customer service.  Assist in the daily supervision of motorclothes department, ensuring the dealership is exceeding customers’ expectations.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

MotorClothes Operations

  • Ensure General Merchandise personnel are well trained and available when needed.
  • Design displays for merchandise, which are appealing to customers.  Make effective use of:
  • Fixtures
  • Wall Displays
  • Show Cases
  • Glass Cubes & Towers
  • Mannequins
  • Provide input from sales staff to General Merchandise Manager in order to help maintain sufficient quantities of stock to support demand and acceptable inventory turn ration.
  • Assists manager in setting goals and preparing action plans to meet those goals
  • Maximize return on investment of General Merchandise Inventory.
  • Print aged inventory monthly and implement plan of action to promptly sell these items
  • Gauge stock movement and devise promotions when necessary (get approval from Manager)
  • Maintain cleanliness of department and keep inventory neatly stacked and orderly
  • Set-up and maintain a smooth running, efficient, appealing retail environment for the General Merchandise department.
  • Making sure all stocking orders are approved by G.M. and Motorclothes Manager
  • Conduct or participate in periodic physical inventory of all merchandise (counts, reports etc.)
  • Maintain updated customer mailing lists
  • Attend training sessions to keep current with P&A merchandising & inventory control issues.
  • Maintain top knowledge on new and existing product lines
  • Responsible to ensure accurate and timely pricing of newly arrived merchandise

 

 Management Duties

  • Assist in maintaining sound management practices to ensure General Merchandise department contributes acceptable levels of gross & net profit to overall dealership
  • Communicate regularly with the General Merchandise sales staff regarding:

  • Continue to recruit and select a team of qualified sales staff.
  • Create a positive work environment that results in higher retention and less turnover.
  • Clearly communicate dealership, company and departmental objectives to staff.
  • Ensure department is set up for necessary training
  • Responsible for warranty claims within the MotorClothes Department

 

Customer Service

  • Greet customers immediately, in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Develop and share knowledge of all Motorclothes merchandise.
  • Manage the service of multiple customers at one time, while maintaining individual customer satisfaction
  • Point out any sales, specials, or new merchandise to customers.
  • Accept cash & credit card payments for merchandise purchases. Keep cash register accurate.
  • Handle customer complaints reasonably, showing empathy and a positive attitude, and demonstrate our commitment to Make Things Right.
  • Provides a work environment which instills motivation, teamwork, and positive attitudes.

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience within in retail sales environment or equivalent
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Demonstrated sales success in a commission retail environment
  • Must have the ability to get along with a broad customer base
  • Ability to organize, delegate, prioritize, meet deadlines, and follow-up on all store activities
  • Proven ability to effectively challenge and motivate a team of sales associates
  • Demonstrated sales success in a commission retail environment highly preferred
  • Experience with Point-of-Sale & computerized inventory systems or the ability to quickly learn.

 

Physical Demands:

 

  • The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
  • Occasionally required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to stand on feet for lengthy periods of time, up to 8 consecutive hours

 

Working Conditions:

 

  • Usually indoors, however outdoor work is required when outdoor events are scheduled.
  • Is potentially exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning materials or other toxic materials commonly found in a motor vehicle service department.
  • Occasionally, exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.
